It has been quite some time since Asus unveiled its ZenFone Zoom smartphone back in September. The world’s thinnest optical-zoom smartphone with a 3X Hoya lens in an innovative 10-element lens arrangement for exceptional clarity and close-ups with up to 12X total magnification is now official in China.
Asus is promising DSLR-like photography experiences with the ZenFone Zoom’s 13MP PixelMaster camera. The device’s camera features an Optical image stabilization, dual LED flash and laser auto-focus capture total clarity at lightning speed.
Powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor, 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage as an option. The ZenFone Zoom has all the power you need for multitasking and to get you throughout the day with the 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery.
The 5.5-inch 1920×1080 Full HD IPS display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and offers wide 178-degree viewing angles and has a pixel density of 403ppi. The ZenFone Zoom is 4G LTE enable and has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and NFC. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus user interface.

The ZenFone Zoom measures 158.9 x 78.84 x 5 ~ 11.95 mm, weighs 185 grams and comes with faux leather back in Black and White colour options. Priced at ￥2799.00 (~$432 – £287 – €394 – $596 AUD) for the 64GB and ￥3199 (~$494 – £328 – €450 – $681 AUD) for the 128GB. The ZenFone Zoom is currently available via eBay.com and also expected to go on sale globally in the coming days via Asus.com.
