Today, Samsung has released its 4th version of the Android Nougat beta (ZPLH) for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices. The firmware size is about 272MB which brings with it the removal of the Samsung Notes as pre-installed app, bug fixes and stability improvements.

Once the update installed, we were faced with a dismissible pop up notice saying “This is Beta Software. Due to the nature of the test version, unexpected errors may occur. Please make sure to back up important data in advance. Any errors that are found maybe used to improve future versions.”

One of the main features that this update brings with it is the Colour Balance; which lets you adjust the RGB colours of your display to change the appearance of white tones. The new feature can be found under Settings>> Display and home screen>>Screen Mode>>Colour balance.

There aren’t any other noticeable changes that we have encountered apart from the ability to uninstall the Samsung Notes app and reinstall it from Google Play or Samsung app Store. Also we have noticed the disappearance of the official software name. The Samsung Experience (SE) name is no longer there when checking the About device section. We just have to wait and see what name Samsung will choose for its final software update.
