Google has launched the Android One program in Europe in partnership with the Spanish smartphone maker, BQ. Dubbed Aquaris A4.5 is an affordable dual-SIM smartphone with 4G capability. The A4.5 will be first launching in Spain and Portugal, other EU countries are expected to follow.
As part of the Android One family, the Aquaris A4.5 will be among the first to upgrade to Google’s latest Android OS. Enjoying all the features of the pure Android operating system. The device comes with updates guaranteed for 24 months.
The new device hosts a 4.5-inch IPS qHD (540 x 960) with 244PPI protected by Dragontrail glass, MediaTek MT6735M Quad-Core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.0GHz, ARM Mali T720 GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM with microSD card option supports up to 64GB.
There is an 8-Megapixel rear camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture, dual flash and Autofocus, and a 5-Megapixel frontal shooter. Also there is a 2470 mAh LiPo built-in battery. The Aquaris A4.5 has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS.
Other features include; Notification LED light, Sound Dolby technology, Double tap and two microphones with noise canceller for clearer calls. It measures 63.48 x 131.77 x 8.75 mm and weighs 119 grams.
The new BQ Aquaris A4.5 ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which will be upgradeable to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes in White and Black and retails for €169.90 (~ £125 – $195) in Spain and €179.90 (~ £130 – $205) in Portugal.
