In addition to the unveiling of the new iPhone SE, Apple has also announced a new iPad Pro, a new 9.7‑inch model that is versatile, portable and capable of delivering the power of a PC in a sleek and slimmer package. The new iPad Pro features an ultra-thin metal body with just 6.1mm thickness.
The iPad Pro’s vivid Retina touch screen has a resolution of 2048×1536 screen resolution and True Tone display. It uses advanced four-channel ambient light sensors to automatically adapt the colour and intensity of the display to match the light in your environment. Which means reading anywhere is more natural and comfortable — almost like looking at a sheet of paper.
The four speaker audio system delivers a rich, wide and detailed sound-stage. It automatically adjusts the orientation of the high frequencies to the topmost speakers, no matter how you’re holding it. So whether you’re playing a game or watching a film, you — and your ears — will be completely immersed.
Powering the new iPad Pro is Apple’s 64-bit A9X chipset with M9 coprocessor, promising a faster speed than a laptop and a longer battery life. The built‐in 27.5‐watt‐hour rechargeable lithium‐polymer battery can deliver 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video.
Apple has equipped the 9.7” iPad Pro with decent cameras; a 12-Megapixel iSight main camera with Autofocus, True Tone flash, F/2.2 aperture, five-element lens and Sapphire crystal lens cover. It is capable of shooting 4K (3840×2160) videos at 30fps and Slow motion videos; 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps. The secondary camera is 5-Megapixel frontal shooter with flash, f/2.2 aperture and 720p HD video recording capability.
The 9.7” iPad Pro comes in silver, space grey, gold and rose gold. It will be up for ordering on March 24th, and availability is set for March 31st. It is offered with two connectivity options; Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellar, and is priced as follows:
