At the beginning of this year, at CES, Asus gave us a sneak peek at the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) computing device, however today at IFA, the company has now made it official. The question now is, what exactly is the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED?

About Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED laptop

The Zenbook Fold is a hybrid computing device (tablet/laptop) that centres around a folding 17.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560 by 1920 pixels, a 4:3 aspect ratio (when completely opened), and a brightness of 500 nits. When it is completely unfurled, it has the capability of standing on its own kickstand and functioning as a monitor. This makes it a useful combo for office work when paired with a Bluetooth keyboard.

It is also possible to fold the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED at an angle of 120 degrees and use it with a Bluetooth keyboard. This provides a means by which the 17.3-inch display may be viewed in its entirety. Alternatively, the bottom half of the display can be utilised as a virtual keyboard.

Finally, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED may be utilised as a traditional laptop by using only half of its display, which measures 12.5 inches and has a resolution of 1920 by 1280 pixels. The actual keyboard can be magnetically attached to the device.

Even though it has a screen size of 17.3 inches, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED can be held in one hand and used like a tablet. However, this device is rather large.

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is powered by an Intel i7-1250U CPU and has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Windows 11 is the operating system that it uses. This is the hybrid architecture of Intel’s 12th generation, and it consists of 2 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. The graphics are managed by Intel’s Iris Xe graphics processor. There is a 1 terabyte M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, which is the most recent and rapid storage available.

On the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, there are two USB-C ports; both of them are Thunderbolt 4, which means they allow display output as well as charging at a maximum power of 65 watts. In addition to it, there is a 3.5mm audio jack.

There is a four-cell, 75-watt-hour battery contained within the device, which allows for a maximum of nine and a half hours of screen-on time. The weight of the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is 1.5 kilogrammes, which is substantial for a tablet but somewhat manageable for a device that is 17.3 inches in size.

The price of ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED Laptop
