At the ZenFestival in India, ASUS has announced the latest variant of the Zenfone 2 series; the Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone Laser, Zenfone Max and the Zenfone Selfie which was previously announced at the ASUS Zensation press event in Taipei, Taiwan back in June 2015.
Zenfone 2 Deluxe
The device packs a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS display with 403ppi and 72% screen-to-body ratio. Powering the Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage.
There is a 13-Megapixel PixelMaster camera with dual-color LED Flash and f/2.0 wide-aperture lens. The camera features includes; Low Light mode, Backlight (Super HDR) mode, and Super Resolution mode, ensure incredible photos even in a low light situations. At the front, there is a 5-Megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 85 degree wide-angle lens.
The ZenFone 2 Deluxe supports Cat 6-like LTE, Dual-SIM, Dual-Active, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and is running Android 5.0 Lollipop with ASUS Zen user interface out of the box. The device has a 3000mAh non-removable battery that provides more than enough power to get through the day. It also features BoostMaster fast-charge technology for dramatically-reduced recharge times, 60% battery level in 39 minutes from a single charge.
Zenfone 2 Laser
The main feature of the Zenfone 2 Laser is the 13-Megapixel rear camera with its laser autofocus which can take just 0.3 seconds to focus. It also has a low light mode at 400pc brighter.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM and 8GB / 16Gb of built-in storage options and a 2070mAh battery. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop alongside Asus’s UI and supports 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth and dual-SIM connectivity.
The ZenFone 2 Laser will be available for just Rs. 9,999 about $156 – £100 – €145.
The Zenfone Selfie was previously announced at in Taipei, Taiwan back in June 2015. The device is equipped with a 13-Megapixel front and rear PixelMaster cameras with dual color LED Real Tone flash able to capture natural looking selfies in high resolution. Both cameras also come with the laser autofocus system which helps acquiring focus quickly.
The rear camera has f/2.0 aperture lens and laser auto-focus technology to ensure near-instant focusing for clear, sharp pictures — even in low-light conditions. Furthermore, the ZenFone Selfie has Selfie Panorama mode, which exploits ZenFone Selfie’s f/2.2-aperture front lens and 88-degree field of view to capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees
The ZenFone Selfie has a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a wide 178-degree viewing angle and 403ppi pixel density per inch. The ASUS TruVivid technology promises to bring color clarity. Also, the screen is covered with an anti-fingerprint coating and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which helps to protect against scratches and drops.
Powering the ZenFone Selfie is a mid-range octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal storage, and a 3000mAh battery. The ZenFone Selfie will be shipped with Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus UI per-installed. In addition, the device supports Cat. 4 LTE, dual-SIM and dual-standby, and has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS.
The ZenFone Selfie will be available for as low as Rs. 15,999 approx $250 – £160 – €230
Finally, the Zenfone Max. What is interesting about this device is the on-board huge battery. The Zenfone Max comes with a whopping 5000mAh battery which also works as a Power Bank to charge other devices
It also comes with 5-Megapixel front-facing shooter and 13-Megapixel rear camera with 0.3 seconds fast laser autofocus and dual LED real tone flash. The Zenfone Max will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit processor and has a display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It supports Cat.4 LTE, dual-SIM and dual Standby and has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The company did not share the price point of the Zenfone Max, however it has stated that the new device will also be officially announced in October.
