Canadian phone maker; BlackBerry is expected to launch a new Android smartphone next month. The BlackBerry DTEK60 will be manufactured by the Chinese company TCL, which also makes phones for Alcatel. Perhaps that explains the design similarity between the upcoming BlackBerry DTEK60 and the Alcatel Idol 4.
The recent renders below show the BlackBerry DTEK60 looking very similar to the Alcatel Idol 4. The former features an oval shape design with curved display edges and a speaker that sits at the bottom of the device, like the Alcatel Idol 4.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 is said to come with high-end hardware specs such as; a 5.5-inch 2K Quad-HD (2560×1440 pixels) AMOLED screen, 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory, expandable via MicroSD card.
Other specs include; a 21MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording capability and an 8MP secondary camera at the front with f/2.2 aperture and its own flash, and also 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Type-C connector. The phone should weigh about 165 grams.
So, when will it launch? According to various reports, the BlackBerry DTEK60 is expected to become available in Canada on October 11th for $699 CAD (~$528 – £405 – €470). For more updates about the BlackBerry DTEK60 and other devices make sure to subscribe to our free newsletter.
