Spanish tech company BQ has unveiled its latest smartphone. The Aquaris X5 Plus shares the same design principles of Aquaris X5 with a quantitative improvement in hardware components. The X5 Plus features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, rear fingerprint scanner, decent size battery and 4K video and capture capabilities.
The X5 Plus is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920px) touch screen covered by Dinorex protective glass and Quantum Color + technology, covering a wide range of NTSC colours and offering a higher dynamic range. The Snapdragon 652 is clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The device is configured with a choice of internal storage; 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. There is also a microSD slot supports up to 64GB.
Another key enhancement is the 16-Megapixel rear camera with Sony’s IMX298 sensor. It includes phase detection autofocus (PDAF) technology, f/2.0 aperture, dual Tone flash and is capable recording 4K videos at 30fps and slow motion 720p HD videos at 120fps. The 8-Megapixel front camera is equipped with a Sony IMX219 sensor. The X5 Plus is BQ’s first device to include a fingerprint scanner which can be used for identification or biometric authentication during payment processes.
The Aquaris X5 Plus hosts a 3100 mAh battery. It is also equipped with 4G+ and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity, as well as NFC and GPS + GLONASS. The Aquaris X5 Plus will run Android 6 Marshmallow operating system when starts shipping. It will be made available in 3 colour options; Black/Anthracite Grey, White/Silver and White/Rose Gold directly from BQ.com.
