HP has unveiled the Elite X3 flagship smartphone at the MWC 2016. The HP Elite x3 is powered by Windows 10 Mobile platform that enables mobility and computing to come together in a truly meaningful way. The new HP Elite X3 is premium device built for business users with its capabilities and functionalities. It can be used as a fully functioning Windows PC.
The HP Elite x3 with Windows 10 mobile bridges phablet, laptop and desktop use cases from a single computing device while enabling users to run key productivity apps across these different experiences seamlessly.
The new Elite x3 is designed for business users with its capability of delivering seamless phablet, laptop and desktop business productivity in a single device, and by utilizing Continuum in Windows 10, the Elite x3 enables friction-less multi-screen transitions between a phone scenario and a desktop PC scenario.
Users can dock the Elite x3 with its ecosystem of accessories to render desktop and laptop productivity experiences while also retaining productivity on-the-go in a world-class premium and commercial-grade phablet.
With such capability, users can effortlessly switch between using the Elite x3 as a desktop, laptop or mobile device, no longer needing to worry about what device to use in what environment. The Elite x3 also utilizes biometrics to unlock the device – adding an extra layer of protection for enterprise customers.
Specification wise, HP has equipped the Elite X3 with top-of-the-line hardware components. The device looks very sleek with its design and the gorgeous 5.96-inch QHD screen. It is configured with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core 64-bit processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage with microSD expansion up to 200GB.
Furthermore, the HP Elite X3 is equipped a generous 16-Megapixel main camera along with an 8-Megapixel secondary camera, ideal for video conferencing and Skyping with family and work colleagues. The X3 does not fall short on entertainment. The device hosts Bang Olufsen front-facing speakers designed to deliver a superb sound quality.
The HP Elite X3 is wrapped in a dust and water resistance body thanks to the IP67 certification. It is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner as well as an Iris Scanner for Windows Hello. Furthermore, the device supports Qi wireless charging and faster charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, and also has a built-in USB Type-C 3.0 port delivering faster charging time and date transfer.
The HP Elite x3 is expected to be available for sale this summer; exact pricing of the device and its ecosystem of accessories and subscriptions will be announced closer to date of availability.
