Announced today, the HTC One A9 is now available to pre-order in the UK unlocked and SIM-Free for £459.99 and also on monthly plans. The new One A9 is a good alternative to iPhone devices if you want the iPhone look without leaving the Android ecosystem.
Despite its iPhonish look, the HTC One A9 runs Google’s latest Android OS, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device packs a 5.0-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441ppi pixel density.
Inside its metal body, there is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The One A9 is also offered with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Both versions support storage expansion up to 2TB via microSD card.
The sapphire covered 13-Megapixel rear camera has LED flash, Autofocus and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), at the front, there is a 4-Megapixel HTC UltraPixel frontal camera has a fixed focus. Both cameras have an aperture of f/2.0 and support full HD 1080p video recording.
Additionally, the One A9 hosts a non-removable Li-Ion 2150mAh battery, lasting up to 16 hours on 3G talk time and 18 hours on 3G standby time. The device also supports Quick Charge 2.0 which is software upgradable to Quick Charge 3.0.
There is 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz) , Bluetooth v4.1, internal GPS antenna + GLONASS, Nano SIM slot, micro-USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner and Dolby Audio with Hi-Res Audio.

The HTC One A9 measures 145.75 x 70.8. x 7.26mm and weighs 143 grams. The device is offered in a choice of metallic colours – Topaz Gold, Carbon Grey, Opal Silver and Deep Garnet. Customers in the UK can now pre-order the HTC One A9 from the Carphone Warehouse for £469.99 SIM Free or on a monthly contact, it is also available through the UK mobile carrier EE.
Customers in the US can also pre-order the One A9 Spacial Edition directly from HTC.com for $399.99 for the (16GB ROM + 2GB RAM) model with more colour options and other offerings – like; less OS bloatware, 30 days free trial and more. Other countries will start seeing the HTC One A9 in the first week of November via HTC and HTC’s official partners.
