HTC has launched a new smartphone based on last year’s HTC One M9 handset. The new One M9 Prime Camera Edition comes with the same design as the HTC One M9 from 2015.

Despite its outdated look, the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition has been internally upgraded. The phone now comes with a 13-MP camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, the Snapdragon 810 has been replaced with the MediaTek Helio x 10 octa-core processor with a frequency speed of 2.2GHz.

There is also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented by a microSD card with up to 2 TB of storage capacity. The rest of the hardware components are identical to the 2015 model; a 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, a 2,840mAh battery and an UltraPixel front-facing camera.

As for price and availability, in Poland, the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition is currently offered by the local mobile carrier Play, on a contact plan for 1 Polish Zloty (~$0.25 – €0.22) upfront fee + PLN 99.99 monthly payment (~$25 – €22). Although, there is no official word on global availability, the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition is expected to launch in other markets in the coming months.
