Huawei has officially launched its Honor V8 flagship smartphone in China. The Honor V8 has a similar design to the Huawei P9. The phone also has a dual lens camera, up to 2K display with 2.5D curved glass and a sleek unibody metal design that comes in grey, silver, gold and rose gold colours.

The Honor V8 uses Huawei’s own chipset; the Kirin 950 octa-core 2.5GHz processor combined with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 64GB of expandable storage. The 5.7” Honor V8 comes with a choice of displays; the top-end model has a WQHD 2K screen with resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and 515PPI, whereas the standard model has a Full-HD 1080x1920px screen with a pixel density of 386PPI (Pixels Per Inch).
The Honor V8 also shares the same camera settings of the Huawei P9. The phone has a 12MP dual lens rear camera, sadly it is not made by Leica. But still, the V8’s camera features f/2.2 aperture, dual colour LED flash, Autofocus assisted by laser autofocus and the ability to capture 4K videos. At the front, there is an 8-MP camera with f/2.4 aperture.
As for audio, the Honor V8 is equipped with Hi6402 audio chip that supports 24bit high definition audio files, the integration of sound Chamber and DTS SOUND audio processing technology. Other features on-board the V8 include; a 3,500mAh non-removable lithium battery, USB Type-C 2.0, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with AGPS & Glonass, 4G+ with VoLTE and dual SIM with dual standby.

The Honor V8 will be made available from May 17th in China with a priced of ¥2499 (~$265) for the 32GB+Full HD model and ¥2799 (~$430) for the 64GB+2K QHD version. It will ship with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Honor V8 will also be made available in other markets in the coming weeks through Vmall.eu and other retailers.
