Huawei’s upcoming flagship device will be called Mate 9 Pro – a 5.9-inch phablet equipped with a curved screen, similar to the Galaxy S7 edge from Samsung. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro curved-screen variant codenamed Long Island will be made official next month at an event in Munich, Germany, alongside the Mate 9, which is the standard-variant codenamed Manhattan.
The Mate 9 Pro is said to have a Quad-HD touch screen with resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, and will also support Google’s Daydream VR experience. In the heart of the Mate 9 Pro sits Huawei’s own octa-core chipset; the HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor alongside 4GB of RAM and storage capacities ranging from 64GB to 256GB.
Both, the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will feature dual lens rear cameras with Leica sensors, f/2.0 aperture, dual flash, PDAF, laser Autofocus and 4K video capture, and will also come per-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat OS and Huawei’s user interface on top in a choice of colours including; Lilac, Gold, Rose Gold, Silver and Grey on November 3rd.
