Huawei has launched a new variant of the Mate 9 smartphone announced earlier this month – The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a less expensive version of the Mate 9 Porsche Design without the Porsche Design logo at the rear.

The Mate 9 Pro has a 5.5-inch Quad-HD (1440×2560 pixels) 2K curved AMOLED display, 2.5GHz Octa-core Kirin 960 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM Mate 9 Pro is powered a 4,000mAh battery that supports Huawei’s SuperCharge technology, which can be charged using the built-in USB Type-C port.huawei-mate-9-pro-with-dual-curved-display-and-dual-leica-camera-officially-launched-webooThe device is equipped with the 2nd generation Leica dual-lens camera with Hybrid Zoom, featuring a 12-Megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-Megapixel monochrome sensor, both assisted with the dual-tone LED flash at the rear. There is also an 8-Megapixel camera and a fingerprint scanner at the front of the Mate 9 Pro.

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro comes in Gold, Space Gray, Mocha Brown, Moonlight Silver and Ceramic White colours. It ships with Android 7.0 Nougat alongside Huawei’s Emotion UI 5.0 in two variants; 4GB RAM+64GB storage priced at ¥4,699 (~$686 – £549 – €639) and 6GB RAM+128GB storage priced at ¥5,299 (~$773 – £619 – €720).huawei-vr-weboo-coIn addition to the launch of the Mate 9 Pro in China, Huawei has also released the Huawei VR; a virtual reality (VR) headset supports Huawei’s Mate 9 smartphone series.
