Japanese rugged smartphone maker, Kyocera has launched a new smartphone. Meet the new Digno Rafre – Soap washable and bath-able smartphone comes with US military grade MIL-STD-810 G and IPX5/8 dust+waterproof certifications.
If your phone gets dirty a lot or you just like the sound of washing and bathing your smartphone, then you should consider this device. The Kyocera Digno Rafre can be washed under warm water with foam based hand wash. It can also stand a maximum water temperature of 43° C. Meaning, you can watch your favorite videos, read and relax while having a bath without worrying about dropping it into the water.
With the Digno Rafre you can also operate the touch screen when your hands or the screen are wet. The Kyocera Digno Rafre is not only a washable smartphone, it is also durable with its MIL-STD-810 G and IPX5/8 dust+waterproof certifications. If you have ever accidentally drop it from your pocket or bag, you should not worry. It is impact-resistance and the TFT LCD 5.0-inch display is scratch-resistant, protected by Dragontrail X glass.
Powering the Kyocera Digno Rafre is Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) quad-core processor with a speed of 1.2GHz and 2GB of RAM. The device is configured with 16GB of internal memory, which can be increased up to 128GB using a microSD card. There is also a 3000mAh battery delivering up to 1300 of standby time with VoLTE. The battery can be charged fully in about 160 minutes.
As well as the 2MP frontal and 13MP rear CMOS cameras, the Kyocera Digno Rafre supports 4G LTE, GSM and UMTS networks. It has has Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS. The device measures 71 x 141 x 10.1 mm, weighs 155 g and comes in White, Pink and Blue with Android 5.1 lollipop OS pre-installed. It is available in Japan via KDDI’s Au network on December 11th.
