Lenovo has introduced its first streaming media device at the Lenovo Tech World in China’s Beijing. The new Lenovo Cast is a wireless hub similar to Google’s Chromecast and Microsoft Screen Sharing. It allows you to stream and share your favorite contents from your device, i.e. smartphone or table to any big display wirelessly using Wi-Fi. You can start streaming your photos, videos and other contents simply by plugging it into any HDMI-equipped big-screen TV.
With the Lenovo Cast you can send your contents from your smartphone or table to your big TV screen with a transfer distance of up to 20 meters. The dual frequency WiFi signal can penetrate up to two walls promising of an overall superb wireless performance. And it’s not limited to just sharing videos. It mirrors any content users have on their smartphones.
The Lenovo Cast has a sleek and minimalist design. It is compact and offers extreme flexibility with its convenient pocket size and simple set up. It measures only 70mm in diameter and 15mm in height. It is compatible with devices running Android 4.3 and above. It also supports selected Miracast or DLNA-enabled Windows 8.1 and iOS devices.
The Lenovo Cast comes with a HDMI and USB cable and will be available at the beginning of August worldwide with a retail price of $49 USD.
Lenovo has also unveiled other products and concepts such as; ThinkPad 10, LENOVO Z41/Z51, IDEAPAD 100 and WRITEit. Also, The Magic View Smartwatch concept, the Smart Shoes concept and a smartphone concept with Smart Cast projector.
