Nowadays children are learning to use smartphones, tablets and wearables before they can even talk. A dream for giant tech companies who are always on the look out for a new opportunity to maximise their profits. Made by LG, introduced by Verzion – the new GizmoPal 2 and GizmoGadget are a pair of ‘designed-for-kids’ wearables that look like smartwatches and come in multiple kid-friendly colours.
The second-generation GizmoPal comes in pink or light blue, and features multiple LED status lights that indicate if a call or message is coming in from his or her caregiver, the ability to set GPS boundaries with real-time notifications, an IPX7 waterproof design and a voice recorder that allows children to playback their voice with fun effects.
GizmoPal’s big sibling, the GizmoGadget, offers many of the same features as the GizmoPal 2, but offers a touchscreen display that gives children even more exciting features and provides a more immersive experience. New features include the ability to send pre-recorded messages and emojis from the interactive 1.3-inch colour touchscreen, and a pedometer and jump rope counter to encourage exercise.
Kids will feel like a secret agent as they send and receive voice calls and messages via GizmoGadget’s instant two-way calling, which accommodates up to 10 numbers and preset messages. The device is offered in red or dark blue and is customisable with different touchscreen themes and optional colourful bands to personalize the device to your child’s personality.
You can finally let your children roam around without fear of losing them. The GizmoGadget and the GizmoPal 2 give you peace of mind that your child is safe, thanks to a built-in GPS locator that notifies you, in real time, if your child strays from the GPS boundaries that you set in the device. Manage this feature, as well as all other settings, from the new GizmoHub app, available for download at Google Play and Apple App Stores.
The LG GizmoPal 2 and LG GizmoGadget are available on Version’s online store. The GizmoPal 2 is $79.99 and the GizmoGadet is $149.99. Both devices require a $5 monthly access fee that can be added and removed at any time to your existing Verizon Wireless plan. Stickers for the GizmoPal 2 and interchangeable watchbands for both devices will be available to let your kids further stylize their new devices.
