LG Electronics launches a new SJ soundbar series. The SJ9, SJ8 and SJ5 are available for sale locally in company’s home town South Korea. The new soundbars are suitable for consumers who want deeper and richer sound, rather the sound that comes out of the TV’s speakers.

The LG SJ9 soundbar supports Dolby’s advanced stereo sound technology ‘Dolby ATMOS’, delivering an immersive home theatre like sound experience. It has an output of 5.1.2 channels of 500 watts (W), and two up-facing firing loudspeakers that create a three-dimensional sound.

The LG SJ8 soundbar is now 30% slimmer than previous models. According to LG, it’s reduced from 55mm to 38mm in height, making it easy to install in narrow spaces under the TV. It also provides an output sound of 300 watt (W) per channel.

The SJ9 and SJ8 are capable of playing high-quality, lossless stereo audio at up to 24-bit/192kHz quality. With the up-scaling feature, it converts lower-resolution audio to a high-resolution 24-bit format for a more premium listening experience. It also supports Google’s Chromecast, allowing you to connect your smart device and play music wirelessly from YouTube, TuneIn and other apps easily.

The LG SJ5 soundbar is the last in the 2017 series. It can produce high-quality sound of up to 24-bit 96kHz at a reasonable price. The new LG SJ9, SJ8 and SJ5 are priced at ₩1,299,000 (~$915), ₩699,000 (~$492) and ₩499,000 (~$351) respectively.
