Today Chinese Meizu has unveiled another powerful smartphone – The Meizu PRO 6 has a beautifully crafted metal body packed with some serious specs such as; Deca-core (10-cores) processor, 5.2” touch screen with 3D Press (Touch), like the one used in Apple’s iPhones.
The 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a pixel density of 423ppi. The screen supports Meizu’s so-called 3D Press, or we can just call it 3D Touch, in which the phone can register differences in pressing force on the screen in real time and then call the corresponding preview results and hotkey functions.
The Meizu PRO 6 is configured with a powerful Helio X25 Deca-core processor coupled with ARM Mali-T880 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The on-board 2560mAh battery is not the largest we have seen in a smartphone so far, but the 24W mCharge 3.0 should deliver a faster charging time. Meizu has also integrated the PRO 6 with a USB Type-C 3.1, allowing you to transfer 1GB of data in just 10 seconds.
The PRO 6 smartphone also packs a 21.16-Megapixel main camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, 6-element lens, PDAF assisted by laser focusing, and a nice looking circular two-tone flash at the rear. The secondary camera has a 5-Megapixel camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture and 5-element lens.
There is also mTouch 2.1 front-facing fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetoth and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. In the audio department, the Meizu PRO 6 uses Hi-Fi module and the CS43L36 decoding integrated amp chip from Cirrus Logic. This chip has an advanced circuit design that provides excellent dynamic performance and delivering crisp and powerful sound.
As for price and availability, the Meizu PRO 6 will be made available for sale on April 23 for ¥2,500 (~$387 – £272 – €339 – $510 AUD) for the 32GB model, and ¥2,800 (~$432 – £303 – €382 – $565 AUD) for the 64GB model. The Meizu PRO 6 will ship in silver, grey and gold with Flyme 5 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
