Micromax has launched its new Canvas Sliver 5, a super slim mid-range Android powered smartphone, featuring a razor-thin 5.1mm body and a super slick frame. The Canvas Sliver 5 is Micromax’s slimmest device ever. However the new smartphone is not the slimmest device on the market in comparison with the 4.75mm Vivo X5Max and the 4.85mm Oppo R5.
The new Canvas Sliver 5 has a 4.8-inch 1280 x 720p HD AMOLED display protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Quad-core 64-bit processor and Adreno 306 GPU for graphics paired with 2GB DDR3 RAM.
There is an 8-Megapixel Sony CMOS IMX219 rear camera with Autofocus and 75.6° degrees Wide Angle lens capable of recording 1080P HD videos at 30fps. At the front there is a 5-Megapixel front-facing camera with beauty shooting mode.
The Canvas Sliver 5 comes with non-expandable 16GB of built-in storage and a 2000mAh battery promises to last up to 8 hours talk time and up to 345 hours of Stand by time. Running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box, the device has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS and supports 4G/LTE network connectivity.
The Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 comes with pre-installed apps including; Housing, Hotstar, App Center, Quikr, Scandid, Clean master, Snapdeal, NewsHunt, Chaatz and Swiftkey. It will be available in Gold and Black with a retail price of Rs. 17,999 which is approximately $285 – £180 – €250.
