The new Oppo R9 Plus announced earlier today is set to go on sale in China next month, April 12th. The R9 Plus packs some serious power, making it a good choice for anyone who is on the look for a sleek smartphone with an iPhone 6s Plus inspired design.
The Oppo R9 Plus will be made available in Gold and Rose Gold metallic colour options. It measures 163.1 x 80.7 x 7.4mm and weighs 185 grams. The R9 Plus has a slim body design equipped with a front facing fingerprint scanner, 6-inch 1080p FHD screen, 4120mAh battery with VOOC Fast Charger, 1.8GHz Snapdragon 652 processor paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory. The R9 Plus runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The R9 Plus comes with 16-Megapixel front and rear facing cameras with f/2.0 aperture, the rear camera has an autofocus, LED flash and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), ideal to reduce those blurry moments when shooting images. The R9 Plus is also capable of filming 4K videos.
Oppo has configured the R9 Plus with 64GB and 128GB of built-in storage capacities. At the moment the Chinese company seems to be only offering the 64GB model for ¥3299 CNY (~$509 – £354 – €449 – $667 AUD), which will go on sale in China on April 12th. Currently, there is no word on the price of the 128GB model, however the phone is expected to become available in the next few days.
