Smartwatch maker and original crowdfunded, Pebble, has launched the all new Pebble Time Round watch. The company claims that the new round watch is the world’s slimmest and lightest smartwatch. It is 7.5mm thin and weighs 28g – 32grams. In fact, Pebble’s Time Round smartwatch is thinner than Apple’s Watch 10.5mm and Samsung’s Gear S2 11.4mm.
The new Time Round from Pebble looks quite nice. It has a color e-paper display with LED backlight which always stays on, making it feel like a real watch. The screen gives you access to calendar events, text messages, even incoming calls–all with a simple, discreet glance.
It has a battery life of up to two days, which can be charged in just 15 minutes to give you a full day of power. The Time Round can be customized to suit your style with the downloadable watchface designs and the Quick-Change bands, which come in various colors, sizes and styles.
The Pebble Time Round measures 38.5mm x 38.5mm x 7.5mm and offered in 14mm or 20mm band width. It is splash resistant to IPX7 standard, and has Marine Grade Stainless Steel chassis and bezel, 2.5D gorilla glass display, Tactile buttons for easy, eyes-free control, built-in vibrating motor for discreet alerts and alarms and a built-in microphone for voice reply.
With the likes of any other smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round allows you to track your steps, activity, and sleep with Misfit. It is compatible with Apple’s iOS 8 and above and Android devices running Android 4.3 OS and above.
The Pebble Time Round is available to pre-order from its maker for $249.99 (~ £165 – €225 – $360 AUD). It is offered in different styling including; “Silver with Stone Leather”, “Rose Gold with White Leather”, “Black with Flame Red Leather”, “Black with Nero Black Leather” and “Silver with Nubuck Brown Leather”, metal bands will also be available soon.
