The Redmi A1 was released by Xiaomi’s Redmi division in India earlier this month, and the Redmi A1 Plus was just released today. It costs either INR 7,499 (BDT 9274.01, $91, €93) or INR 8,499 (BDT 10510.71, $103, €105) for the 2GB/32GB and 3GB/32GB versions, respectively.

For the duration of the Diwali holiday, however, you can purchase either edition for just INR500 ($6/€6). Starting on October 17, you can purchase one from the official Xiaomi India website, Flipkart, Mi.com, and local retailers across India in your choice of Black, Light Blue, or Light Green.

However, the Redmi A1+ is not an entirely fresh mobile device. An optional fingerprint scanner and 3GB of RAM make this a Redmi A1. Xiaomi’s Indian website as well as Amazon.in sell the Redmi A1 in a single 2GB/32GB configuration for INR6,299 ($76/€78).

The Redmi A1+ runs MIUI 12 on top of Android 12 and is powered by a Helio A22 system-on-chip (Go Edition). It features a 8-megapixel main camera and a QVGA unit, and is built around a 6.52″ HD+ screen with a notch for the 5-megapixel front camera. The back of the phone has a leather texture finish.

The Redmi A1 Plus also features a microSD slot for expanding storage by up to 512GB, as well as a microUSB port that can charge the phone’s 5,000 mAh battery at up to 10W.
