The price and specifications of Samsung’s latest mid-range handset the Galaxy A8 have showed up in Malaysia. The new upcoming device comes with a full-HD display, a fingerprint sensor and a good size battery, all nicely packed inside a very slim body.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 is an Android phablet which has a very slim profile, measuring only 5.9mm thin. It is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, which works as biometric authentication to unlock the device.
The Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Full-HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor combined with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage with microSD slot that supports up to 128GB of storage expansion.
The upcoming new device is equipped with a 16-Megapixel ISOCELL rear camera with Autofocus and LED flash, and a 5-Megapixel front facing camera. Both cameras have f/1.9 aperture similar to the one found in Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
The Galaxy A8 hosts a decent size 3050mAh battery. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop and TouchWiz user interface out of the box. It is 4G/LTE enabled and has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device measures 158 x 76.77 x 5.94 mm and is expected to comes in three colors; White, Black and Gold.
According to the poster provided by Mdroid.my, the Galaxy A8 is set to cost RM 1,888, which is about $500USD. However the price and specifications may be different when Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy A8 in the coming weeks in China, presumably on July 17th.
