The second generation of the Samsung Galaxy J3 will be released on Sprint and its prepaid carriers; Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile next month, according to a user manual reviewed by VentureBeat, which reveals that Sprint is going to brand the Galaxy J3 (2017) as the Galaxy J3 Emerge.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge will be revamped with some minor upgrades to its predecessor; the Galaxy J3 (2016). So, instead of the Exynos processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage on-board the Galaxy J3 (2016), the upcoming Galaxy J3 Emerge (2017) model will be armed with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Sadly, the 5-inch 720p HD touchscreen will stay the same.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge will also come with a 5-Megapixel primary camera, 2-Megapixel secondary camera and a 2,600mAh battery. It will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow alongside the company’s user interface from the word go. Pricing and availability of the Galaxy J3 Emerge will be made official when Sprint starts offering forthcoming phone to consumers in the U.S. on January 6th, 2017.
