Today, Samsung has officially unveiled its latest flagship Galaxy S7 smartphones. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge packed with the latest technology and top-of-the-line hardware components such as; excellent super-fast cameras with dual pixel image sensors, larger batteries and water-resistant sleek bodies.

The Samsung has kept the design of this year Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge similar to last year successors; the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. However, now the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge feature IP68 water and dust proof bodies equipped with Super AMOLED Quad-HD 2.5D arc glass covered screens; 5.1-inch screen for the S7 and curved 5.5-inch for the Galaxy S7 Edge. In addition, the display supports the so-called ‘Always On’ functionality; a feature that always displays time, date and other alert notifications.

The S7 devices have had their batteries pumped up while kept the wireless fast charging technology on-board. The Galaxy S7 comes with a large 3000mAh battery instead of the Galaxy S6’s 2550mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge equipped with a larger 3600mAh; an increase by 1000mAh to the previous S6 Edge model. Both long-lasting batteries are built-in, therefore they are non-removable.

In the Camera department, both S7 devices are equipped with dual pixel image sensor 12-Megapixel rear cameras as opposed to the 16-Megapixel found in the S6 devices. Despite downgrading in the camera’s Megapixels, the new camera should deliver better image quality, and when paired with the f/1.7 aperture instead of f/1.9 in S6 generation, images are not only clear and sharp, but also low-light conditions should be a thing from the past. There is also a 5-Megapixel front-facing shooter with a flash.

The S7 smartphones come with 4GB of RAM paired with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor for the USA variants of the Samsung Galaxy and Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor for international markets. As for storage, both devices now have a microSD card slot that supports up to 200GB. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are configured with 32GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be offered in Gold, Silver, Black and Rose Gold, and also dual SIM variants in some selected markets. In Europe, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is priced at €699 – £569 (~$776) and €799- £639 (~$887), respectively. Both devices are now available for pre-orders directly from Samsung.com with delivery set for 8th March. Samsung is also offering a free Gear VR with every pre-order in EU and the US.
