Samsung has finally launched its payment system in the UK. Samsung Pay allows you to shop using your Galaxy smartphone virtually anywhere contactless is accepted.
With Samsung Pay you can keep your favourite cards in one place. Your credit, debit and membership cards can all be on your compatible device (available on Galaxy S8 and S8+, S7 and S7 edge, S6 and S6 edge, and also Gear S2 and Gear S3 smartwatches).
You can add your qualifying MasterCard or Visa card issued by major UK banks, building societies and credit cards’ companies. Samsung Pay currently supports MBNA, Nationwide Building Society and Santander.
With Samsung Pay you can also upload your loyalty cards at selected merchants in the UK, accumulate and redeem points. You can set up a card as a ‘transport card’ to use on TfL services. This option means you don’t even need to wake your phone or verify with a fingerprint, iris scanner or PIN – simply touch the middle section of your phone against the card reader.
According to Samsung, with Samsung Pay, each transaction is covered by your bank’s fraud protection and authenticated by your fingerprint, pin number or iris scan. Plus, tokenisation adds an extra layer of security.
To get started and to download Samsung Pay app to your Galaxy device, simply hit the ‘Get The App’ button above to download the app from the Google Play store. You can also download the Samsung Pay app from directly from the Samsung Apps store on your phone.
