Sony has officially announced its new flagship device, the Xperia Z4 to add to the Xperia smartphones series alongside a couple of accessories. Nothing spectacular that we haven’t seen before on-board of Sony’s new flagship device.
The new device features an aluminum frame design and a 5.2-inch Full-HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, we would love to see maybe a QHD display to compete with rivals, but perhaps in future devices. There is a 2.0GHz/1.5GHz 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with microSD slot on-board for storage expansion up to 128GB.
The Xperia Z4 is equipped with a generous 20.7-Megapixel rear camera with AF and Flash supporting 4K video recording. At the front there is a 5-Megapixel camera.
The Z4 is powered by a 2930mAh battery offering up to 17 hours of 3G talk time. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and comes with Sony’s own software as well as Google apps, such as; Google Play, Google Map, Gmail, Youtube. Also there is Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1 for connectivity.
In addition, the Xperia Z4 is IPX5/IPX8 certificated so it is a waterproof and dustproof. It measures 146 x 72 x 6.9mm and weighs 144grams. The new device comes in White, Black, Copper, Aqua Green. There are no details with regards to retail price of the new Xperia Z4.
The new Xperia Z4 will be come with a Cover With Window Case (SCR30) allowing you to access notifications, camera, calls without lifting the lid. It is also IPX5/8 waterproof and will be offered in matching colors to the Xperia Z4; white, black, copper, Aqua Green. It will be available via Sony later this summer with a retail price of ¥7,000 Yen which is roughly $59.00USD – £39.00 – €55.00 – $75AUD.
In addition, a USB Docking charger which can work as a stand for the Xperia Z4 as well as charging it. It comes in Black and will be coming later this summer, no info about price.
