New information suggests that the next Galaxy A54 will be equipped with a 50MP primary camera.

Given that both the Galaxy A52 and A53 boast 64MP primary cameras, this could appear to be a downgrade for many Galaxy A fans. While an increase to a 50MP sensor could be indicative of improvement, we all know that megapixel count isn’t everything.

The Galaxy A52 and A53 have a 64MP sensor that isn’t especially large. The A54 might have a larger, more competent 50MP primary sensor, in keeping with Samsung’s goal of delivering premium features in certain of its Galaxy A devices. There’s a good chance that the new A54 phone will share its camera with the Galaxy S22 and S22+, but that’s just a wild guess.

There are still roughly six months left in the Galaxy A53’s life cycle, so further information about the A54’s release date will likely surface then.
