Today, Chinese Vivo launched an IPL matte black edition of the Vivo V5Plus in India. The smartphone goes on sale starting today, exclusively through Flipkart and Vivo exclusive stores across the country at a price tag of Rs 25,990 which is about $400 USD.
The matte Black V5Plus limited edition smartphone features an 18-carat VIVOIPL logo engraved at the rear was announced by Vivo in Hyderabad on April 4th to celebrate the 10 glorious years of IPL. “This exclusive range of special edition smartphones has been made available to offer cricket fans and IPL lovers a delightfully personalised experience” said Vivo in a press note.
In terms of other hardware specifications, the Vivo V5Plus comes with a dual front-facing camera; a 20-Megapixel camera which uses Sony IMX376 sensor along with f/2.0 aperture and a moonlight LED flash, and also an 8-Megapixel camera.
The dual front-facing camera creates a depth-of-field effect that keeps faces sharp while creating a beautifully blurred background, which is enhanced by Bokeh Mode algorithms to generate an amazing bokeh effect, ensuring you always look your best. The Vivo V5Plus IPL Edition also has a 16-Megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and a single LED flash. The rear camera is capable of capturing 4K videos, time-lapse and slow-motion videos.
The 5.5-inch smartphone uses a 1080p IPS LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2.0GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a 3,055mAh fast charging battery.
The V5Plus is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and also comes with a custom-made AK4376 dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip which offers unparalleled sound quality and signal-to-noise ratio of up to 115dB. The device ships with the outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS alongside the company’s custom made Funtouch OS 3.0 user interface.
