Indian smartphones maker Xolo has launched a new Android powered device named Xolo Black. The new device is equipped with dual rear camera and comes with good hardware on-board. It features a black glass front and back, similar to Google’s Nexus 4, minus the sparkles. The Xolo Black has a good retail price making a good buy for local Indian and global consumers.
The device measures 155.5 x 76.6 x 7.3mm and has a sleek metal body with front and back glass made from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and covered with Oleophobic coating to keep it free from stains & smudges.
One of the interesting features on-board the Xolo Black is the Smart Breathing Light Notifications; the “Power” Button works as a notification light to alert you of any new messages, missed calls and other notifications.
The Xolo Black comes with quite a big screen, that is a 5.5-inch Full-HD IPS OGS display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a working pixel density of 401 ppi (pixels-per-inch).
It is powered by a 64-bit Eight-Cores Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Adreno 405 GPU combined with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal memory with microSD slot for memory expansion up to 32GB.
The new device hosts a 3200mAh lithium-ion polymer battery promises to last 20% longer. The battery has standby time of about 547 hours on 4G and up to 698 hours on 3G, and up to 23 hours of 3G call time. It has a charging time of approx 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The Xolo Black is equipped with 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera serves dual purpose- one for regular image-capturing and the other for mapping depth perception. The 13MP has Purecel sensor, 5-element lens and f/2.0 aperture, whereas the 2MP FSI has 3-element lens and f/2.4 aperture. Furthermore, the rear camera has Fast Focus, UbiFocus, OptiZoom, ChromaFlash and supports Full-HD 1080p recording.
At the front, there is a 5-Megapixel front-facing camera with 5-element lens, f/2.0 aperture, front flash and 81° degrees wide angle lens.
In terms of connectivity, the new device is a dual-SIM supports 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE and has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/GLONASS and USB v2.0. There is also Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, Hall Effect Sensor and Proximity Sensor. The device runs HIVE atlas, a user interface built on the latest version of Android Lollipop.
The new Xolo Black is set to retail for Rs 12,999 which is about ($205 – £135 – 185) and will be available exclusively on the Indian online retailer, Flipkart on July 13th.
