ZTE is yet to announce the upcoming Axon 2 smartphone, however that didn’t stop the online retailer OppoMart from listing the smartphone on its site as out of stock for $599 (~£408 – €522 – $784 AUD). The specifications of the ZTE Axon 2 were previously listed on GFXBench and TENAA websites, so the announcement of the Axon 2 could be an imminent.
OppoMart’s listing not only confirms the price of the upcoming flagship smartphone, it also confirms the full specifications of the handset. Based on the retailers listing, the Axon 2 phone will have a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with integrated 4G LTE connectivity and Adreno 530 GPU for superior graphics and gaming experience, boosting 3D interfaces, colours and textures.
The ZTE Axon 2 is configured with 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented by a microSD card with up to 128GB of storage capacity. The phone also hosts a decent size 3,140mAh Li-Po battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
The 5.5-inch smartphone boasts a 2K Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440pixels resolution, a 20-Megapixel Sony main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), dual LED flash and 4K video recording capability, and also an 8-Megapixel secondary camera. The Axon 2’s metal body also hosts a rear fingerprint scanner, front-facing speakers, dual SIM slot and a built-in USB Type-C connector.
Weighing 175 grams, the Axon 2 should feel quite solid in the hand. It also measures 154 x 77 x 9.8mm and comes in Gold colour. ZTE is expected to launch the Axon 2 pretty soon, and when it does, the flagship smartphone should ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.
