ZTE’s second edition of the Axon smartphone has been approved by TENAA. The ZTE Axon 2 (codename A2017) seems to share a similar design to its predecessor with a few alignments and upgrades. The Axon 2 (A2017) phone was previously listed on the GFXBench’s website.

The upcoming Axon 2 features a metal body design with dual front facing speakers positioned above and below the 5.5″ Quad-HD 2K OLED display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented by a 128GB microSD card.

The Axon 2 is equipped with a rear fingerprint scanner alongside a 20MP rear camera enhanced with dual-LED flash and autofocus, and an 8MP front-facing camera. The main camera is capable of recording 4K videos. The built-in USB Type-C port provides a quick data transfer and faster charging time for the 3,140mAh battery.

Weighing 175 grams, the Axon 2 should feel quite heavy in the hand. It also measures 154 x 77 x 9.8mm. ZTE is expected to launch the Axon 2 pretty soon, and when it does, the flagship smartphone should ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system on-board.
