It looks like Chinese ZTE is working on a new flagship smartphone which may get launched soon. Named ZTE A2017 has made its way to GFXBench’s database.
It is unknown if this device will be an Axon-named smartphone. However if you look at the highlighted rows in the image below, you will notice that the ZTE A2017 has a similar code name to the 2015 ZTE Axon Elite (A2016) and Axon Tianji Elite (A2015). Based on these similarities, one could only think that the ZTE A2017 will be launched as an Axon device.
Even though the name of ZTE’s upcoming smartphone remains ambiguous, the GFXBench’s listing confirms that the ZTE A2017 handset will be a flagship smartphone packed with top-of-the-line hardware components. According to GFXBench’s database, the ZTE A2017 will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
It will also have a 5.5-inch 2K Quad-HD display with 2560 x 1440px resolution, 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU (2xKryo@2.1GHz + 2xKryo@1.6GHz – ARMv8), Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 8MP front facing camera and 20MP rear camera with autofocus and 4K recording capability.
