The new Axon Max is the latest addition to ZTE’s Axon family. The ZTE Axon Max was initially introduced back in October. Now the device is official and set to go on sale the end of this month. Packed with a large 6.0-inch display and respectable battery, the Axon Max is aimed at business users, according to ZTE’s latest announcement.
The Axon Max’s body is made from a high strength Boeing 787 aircraft-grade aluminum-titanium alloy, containing up to 93% of metal. The 6.0-inch FULL-HD AMOLED touch screen is covered by 2.5D curved glass and has colour values as high as 98%, contrast 61,600:1 and pixel density of 368PPI, delivering a very high level of granularity than the retina can offer.
Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of memory with a microSD slot option that supports up to 128GB of extra storage. The high capacity 4140mAh battery is designed for business users to stay connected all day. The improved battery also supports Quick charge 2.0 technology delivering rapid replenish from 0 to 60% in 30 minutes of charge time, and can be charged via the super fast USB Type-C 3.0 port.
Equipped with a 16-Megapixel rear camera which has a Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) that is capable of achieving ultra fast focus in just 0.1 second. The F/1.9 aperture puts the Axon Max on the same level as Samsung’s Galaxy S6 smartphones. The front of the Axon Max also has a generous 13-Megapixel camera with F/2.2 aperture and 9 different filter effects.
Connecting to the web and other devices couldn’t be any easier with the integrated 4G+ LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0. Additionally, there is dual SIM slot (nano + nano/MicroSD), 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS/A-GPS/Glonass and HiFi with a dedicated AK4961 audio chip, high-fidelity recording digital microphone with strong adaptive noise cancellation, all work in harmony to deliver clear, accurate and high quality sound experience. The Axon Max can be unlocked with three different biometric authentication options – fingerprint, voice control, and eye-scan.
The Axon Max ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Mifavor 3.5 user interface. The device has a slim profile, measuring 160 x 80 x 7.5mm. Priced at ￥2799 (~$430 – £290 – €397 – $600 AUD), the ZTE Axon Max comes in Gold and is set to go on sale in China December 27th. Global availability is also expected start in 2016.
